Taxman
Though often referenced, it seems to have started with Benjamin Franklin, "in this world the only things certain are death and taxes." The two sort of come together in this week's passage from Mark. The powers that be in Jerusalem want Jesus dead and so try to trip him up with a question about taxes. Jesus manages to evade their trap by giving a helpful, if somewhat enigmatic, reply. Not a simple matter at times to discern what belongs to Caesar and what to God.
