It is unusual to read much on Reformed Doctrine without finding references to John 6. Likewise, any discussion of John 6 is either going to explain it in terms of Reformed Doctrine or try to explain why that is not really what it means. There is a most interesting (to folks like me anyway!) concept known as "Prevenient Grace" that attempts to reconcile God acting first while preserving real human autonomy. Many think Reformed teaching honors the sovereignty of God at the cost of true human autonomy and responsibility. I hope we will see the error of that and the importance of being careful not to deny that which the Scriptures affirm.
