Take the Long Way Home
So we are getting back to the story of David and Saul after our Easter break. This week we find Saul wandering into a cave and David, who has become quite the caveman, urged to kill him. David makes a very significant decision and then makes a speech to Saul about it. Saul responds with a most interesting speech of his own. What may look like a text that warns us of missed opportunities is, at least in my view, really a text that warns us about short cuts. You can decide whether I'm right or you're wrong.
